Activate license
DVDAddin has 3 license states:

Check current status
Open Excel → tab DVD Addin → group About at far right → click the License button (key icon).
The "DVD Addin — License" window shows:
- Trial — N days remaining + start date + expiry date + Machine ID.
- OR: Activated + email + edition + license expiry.
- OR: Expired + error message.
Buy a license
In the License window, click the Buy License button (orange).
3-step wizard:
Step 1 — Pick configuration
- Duration: 1 year / 2 years / 3 years / Lifetime.
- Concurrent machines: 1 / 3 / 5 / 10 machines.
Price displays dynamically per selection:

Price increase from 01/01/2027
Starting 01/01/2027, new prices apply (~38% increase). Buy before this date for current pricing.
Step 2 — Information
Enter:
- Email (used to log in to addin).
- Display name (optional — for invoice).
- Discount code (if any).
Click Continue → system creates an order.
Step 3 — Pay via VietQR
The window shows:
- VietQR code — scan with your banking app to transfer.
- Transfer note:
DVDA-XXXXXXXX(8-char order ID). - Amount: per chosen configuration.
- QR expiry: 30 minutes.
After successful transfer, the system:
- Auto-detects (via SePay/Casso webhook).
- Sends activation email with email + temp password to the address you entered.
- License is created on the server.
Activate after purchase
Return to the License window:
- Enter Email (same as purchase email).
- Enter Temp password from email.
- Click Sign in.
On first sign-in, the system requires you to change password — enter a new password (≥ 8 chars) for long-term use.
After password change, addin moves to Activated state — all features work.
Move license to another machine
License is bound to machine (machine ID — hash of Windows MachineGuid). Each license has a maximum N concurrent machines.
Method 1 — Deactivate old machine first
- On old machine: open License window → click Sign out (Deactivate).
- On new machine: sign in with email + new password.
Method 2 — Login to override (kick old machine)
Sign in directly on new machine. The system auto-kicks the old session → old machine loses access, new machine gets it.
Single-machine limit
Each license allows max machines = the package count (1/3/5/10). If exceeded, the new login kicks the oldest machine.
Troubleshooting
"No active license is attached to this account"
Your license has expired OR was disabled by admin. Contact [email protected] with your email for renewal support.
"Invalid email or password"
- Verify email is correct (no leading/trailing spaces).
- If you forgot password, contact admin to reset (self-service password reset via web is in development).
"License expired" when everything looks OK
Cause: system clock is off by too much. DVDAddin has anti-clock-rollback — if it detects the clock has rolled back more than 1 hour from the recorded max value, it auto-invalidates the license cache.
Fix:
- Make sure system clock is correct (connect to Internet → Windows auto-sync).
- Open Excel → wait for license heartbeat (every 4 hours) or Deactivate + Activate again to force-sync.
Unexpected expiry — check status on server
Admin can query the database directly. End users contact support.
