Gantt Settings
Ribbon location: DVD Cons tab → Schedule group → dialog launcher (Gantt setup) → Gantt Settings tab
Command ID: btnGanttSettings
What it does
Sets the defaults for the Draw Gantt command — 54 settings, grouped.
- Colours: task bar, critical path, summary task, milestone, completed portion, links, non-working days, holidays, grid, today line, bar border, watermark.
- Timescale: default Day / Week / Month, column width.
- Resource chart: on/off, separate or combined, resource peak line.
- Watermark: text, font size, colour.
- Colour by level: shade tasks by outline level, summary rows only or all rows.
- Manpower / machinery keywords: used to recognise which columns are labour and which are plant.
How to use it
- Open the Gantt Settings tab and change what you need.
- Click Save. From 2.8.4 the chart on the active sheet redraws immediately — previously you had to click Draw Gantt again and nothing said so.
Notes
- Draw baseline bars (thin, grey) under the current bars (time-aids group): dates come from the sheet's current baseline (Baseline), matched by Activity ID; rows not in the baseline get no bar. Off by default.
- Settings are stored in two places like the calendar: in the workbook (travels with the project) and in your machine settings.
- The automatic redraw respects the "Auto draw" toggle: turn it off and Save only writes the settings.
- A sheet that has never had a chart drawn is left alone — click Draw Gantt once first.
